Thanks to RTISAN who provided the gorgeous pearl necklace as the main prize. Don't forget to check out her lovely online shop full of beautiful handmade wedding jewellery and fascinators, like the lovely organza rosette choker with freshwater and glass pearls and the soft feather fascinator hairband with vintage buckle and crystal button, shown above.
This month we also loved this cute cream crochet choker by Rachel Azulie. Embellished with freshwater pearls, garnets and tiny sterling silver beads. So pretty!
Next month, we're heading back to the Aussie bush for a magically romantic winter wedding...
A little something to add, we ended this months nautical wedding theme with a lovely mention on the etsy storque (blog) and newsletter with our tie the knot save the date. Thanks guys!
Here's a little something I stumbled onto today, beautiful Paris and London maps based on an original paper cut design. For sale through Famillie Summerbelle. I might have to pick up one of these, gorgeous!
Step 1: Start by selecting a few digital photos of yourself, and open them in Photoshop making the size roughly an A4, about 20x28cm will do (make sure your dpi is 300 too).
Step 2: Go to Filter > Sketch > Photocopy and set the detail to about 10 and the darkness to about 7, just so you can see the main lines.
Step 3: Use Levels to tidy the image up a little. Ctrl L or Apple L, and bring the two outside arrows in towards the middle. This should get rid of some of the finer detail while strengthening the lines you want to keep.
Step 4: Repeat these steps on all your images and print out. You can then photocopy onto A3 sized paper, two images per page to make your book.
Step 5: Fold your A3 pages in half and punch two holes down the side, finish off by tying the pages together with a little ribbon. You can add a little text to the first page if you like, like your names, and don't forget to supply crayons on the day!
Another pretty packaging find this month I wanted to share. I just love these cute cubes from Nude. Simple, minimalist design for a lovely range.
I love a real wedding, especially one where you can see how much thought and love has gone into the planning and the details. This gorgeous Maine wedding really does sum up nautical nuptials, with its beautiful boat setting and smart navy and white colour scheme. Captured perfectly by NYC based photographer Erica Lyn.
... and I don't appreciate your insinuation that I am some how involved in its disappearance. Happy weekend everyone!
Add some nautical style to your nuptials with these great decorating ideas:
Wedding programs tied up with blue and white striped ribbon are a smart introduction to the ceremony. Tie a little rope around votive candles for a quick sailing feel, pic via Wed Depot. Cute hanging fabric fish with beads and bells. Clever knot escort cards and rope table numbers from a lovely New England wedding via Amanda Stanford. Gorgeous sea urchin paper sculptures double as place card holders and a beautiful gift for guests to take home, US$56 for four from Kissa Design. Even simple little paper boats from sheets of old newspaper make great rustic decorations pegged to some string, pic by J. Malahy Photography. Shabby chic wooden sailboats make fabulous table number signs, US$21.55 from Signs of Vintage. Simple white flowers in silver buckets finished off with a little red and blue ribbon make sea-loving centerpieces.
Another exhibition I really liked this month, Ann Gordon at the Frances Keevil Gallery in Double Bay. I particularly liked the mixed media and encaustic on marble and the little bits of sewing added to the work. Pic via Frances Keevil Gallery.

I know this post is very belated, but a few weeks ago I caught the last day of one of my favourite exhibitions, the Wynne prize. The stand out work to me was this beautiful acrylic painting (top) called Shore Leave by Neil Frazer. Great texture, the water really seemed to move. More of Neil's beautiful work also shown above.

This month we have a great way to jazz up your nautical themed wedding invitations.
Here we have used an A6, postcard sized, save the date from our tie the knot range, created a cute little pocket envelope and finished it off with a reef knot. Very smart and yet so simple.
DIY Project:
Step 1. Visit our website and download your FREE C6 wedding pocket envelope template. Print it out onto a coloured card of your choice. Click here to download.
Step 2. Cut round the template and crease the flap folds marked with a dotted line. Add a little double sided sticky tape to the flaps, fold, and press firmly to secure. Use a circle punch to put a semi-circle at the top of the pocket so you can easily pull out the invitation once its inside.
Step 3. To finish in nautical fashion we've tied a knot round the pocket for decoration.

I thought this month we'd have a little haute couture inspiration for our wedding fashion. Zuhair Murad's Spring/Summer collection from Paris Fashion Week is spectacular. The Lebanese born designers latest work has a fabulous military feel to it which is just gorgeous for a nautical wedding. Most brides to be I'm sure will prefer a far more toned down version for their wedding dress, but think about adding elements such as sashes and brooches to your gown that hint at navy style.

Set sail with this smart and snappy wedding stationery range, perfect if you're tying the knot in nautical style. Shown here in navy blue but available in colour combinations of your choice. Available from the 'i do' it yourself shop.
Finally getting a little closer to our new kitchen. Ive had the computer drawing through today, which, naturally, Ive coloured in. Well Im not having cream walls! :)
Its love on the high seas this month! It has to be said that here in Australia we probably prefer the beach wedding as opposed to the nautical theme popular in countries such as the US. But this tie the knot nautical wedding is always in style, and perfect for weddings in harbour cities like Sydney. It also really lends itself to the chillier months, being a little less outdoorsy than a beach theme. With smart navy blue and crisp creams and whites - hop aboard.

Usually our mood boards come first and from there we develop a matching range of printable wedding stationery, but in this case the inspiration for this months theme came from one of our recent save the date card designs - tie the knot. Available through our online 'i do' it yourself shop. Starfish make a fabulous addition, like napkin rings made with rope. And don't forget boats - great for table centrepieces.
