One of our most popular posts this year was a cute little DIY project - birdcage cake stands. The bride spotted some old birdcages in Chinatown and converted them into beautiful table centrepieces. She spray painted them gold and create tiers inside wrapped in Japanese paper for the cupcakes to sit on.

So how about some other ideas to transform old birdcages?

Try simple centrepieces of flowers inside beautiful rustic old cages. Or how about suspending lots of small cages around outdoor lights for a fabulous display?

Birdcage wedding card holders a proving to be a popular choice at the moment. Deigned to hold gift cards they are a pretty way to decorate your gift table and keep all your cards together. Readily available from online wedding shops or transform a vintage find, just make sure the bars are far enough apart to fit your cards!
