Dereliction photographs are pictures of run down objects and structures that have been forgotten and left to deteriorate. Incorporating these types of backgrounds into your wedding photos can lead to some striking and very memorable images.

We thought we'd kick off our subway inspired wedding theme this months with some real life inspiration. What we love about this wedding is that it's not New York, it's not Chicago - it's Newcastle, Australia. It just goes to show that you can get that vintage urban look in any city. All you need are some cool cars, funky locations and a clever photographer.
Loren and Ben we're lucky enough to have all three. They hired some classic cars for the day and headed out onto the streets for a fabulous photoshoot with Simone Darcy Photography. A stop for coffee provided a great location, plus how cool and laid-back does Loren look with that takeaway latte? Graffiti covered side streets are the perfect spot to stop and pose, that fantastic juxtaposition of grungy concrete with Loren's beautiful dress and cute white jacket.
So get out and explore the side streets around your venue, you never know what you might find.Today Dear September are going to share a couple of their favourite DIY styling ideas for your reception tables. Don't forget to enter this months blog competition for your chance to win a set of cute vintage glass vases to get you started.
For a really pretty place setting, give each guest their own mini vase. Mismatch your flowers to add the eclectic look. Its great if you have a big table and you can spread out the decoration rather than have one large centre piece.
Another great idea is to recycle any glass jars you have and pop tea light candles in them. Cluster all your jars in the middle of the table, or in a row down the centre, it’s simple but effective!

Australia's Fashion Week has been and gone for another year and we'll be taking a look at some of the fashion trends to come out of the event in the coming weeks, but what about beauty?
Catwalk shows always have a big impact on hair and makeup trends and what's available for consumers at the beauty counter. With fashion week all wrapped up it seems pretty pastels are back, with a return to a more natural look.
Less is more. The dark and intense looks of smokey eyes, solid brows and severe lashes out, making way for softer subtle effects of cleaver contouring. Pastel shades were a standout, good news for brides, and a shimmer of pretty metallics. It's all about healthy glowing skin and hair.
Product Talk by Nuffnang: In perfect timing we had a little pressie from Dove arrive in the office last week, their new Nourishing Oil Care Serum for hair. It's handy little size is great for brides to pop into their purse and keep the frizz at bay. And it's not too heavy, just a pea sized drop to towel dried hair is enough to bring out a healthy looking shine, without being greasy which can often be a problem with serums.
Dove Nutritive Nourishing Oil Care Treatment, 40mL RRP $9.99
There's no need to escape to the country for your big day, head underground for the ultimate urban affair. This month we'll take our inspiration from the subway sign art craze.
