Not everyone wants to traipse around a department store, registry gun in hand, selecting towels and teapots. You can put together a wedding gift registry that is truly unique - and show your support for independent artists and designers - by asking your guests to buy beautiful handmade gifts.
While online stores such as etsy don't currently have a wedding gift registry service,
its pretty simple and quick to set one up:
- Create an etsy account if you don't already have one.
- Go shopping - find the items you would like people to buy you from etsy (check out 'i do' it yourself's regular recommendations) and add them as a favorite - the button is in the column on the right hand side.
- Then point your guests towards your favorites page. See our page as an example here.
Easy! We've even created a little template image for you to use on your wedding website if you have one or email us to request a larger version for use as part of your wedding stationary. You'll just need to add your favorites page url.
Your presence at our wedding is the greatest gift of all.

Table decorations or favors could include such things as home made pickles or Jams, cupcakes or chocolates, soaps, hand painted glasses full of lollies.
