This month we couldn't go past the stunning new bridal collections from Angelo Mozzillo. Beautiful photography and amazing dresses, whats not to love? We also stumbled on the work of North Caroline based wedding photographers Cheyenne and Geoff Schultz. What we loved about their work is their great ideas for photographing the grooms party. Too often you see over the top cheesy shots of the boys, sometimes their left out entirely! But the Schultzes have some fantastic ideas like this shift lens toy effect. More beautiful photography, this time by Carl Bengtsson for the UK September/October Brides magazine.
End of another month and another theme here on the blog. We hope you enjoyed our pretty picnic. Thanks once again for all your comments and contributions. Pic by Ruven Afanador.
Next month don't be late for a very important date!
So apart from lying around in the sun and sipping champagne, what are you going on your picnic wedding day? Play croquet of course. Basically the object of the game is to be the first to work a heavy ball through a set of nine wickets. All you need is a lawn and a croquet set!

When I cam across this cooking project from Our Best Bites it struck me as just the cutest addition to our picnic wedding. We mentioned yesterday about having pies as alternatives to traditional wedding cake, well wouldn't these be so perfect? Served in individual glass jars you can make them up and freeze days ahead then just place in a hot oven on the day. Delish! Click here to see the tutorial on Our Best Bites.

Green grass, gorgeous gingham and simple beauty combined in Sarah and Bobs outdoor New Jersey wedding. Beautifully captured by Miki Duisterhof, this wedding is full of the cutest little details. Dragonfly escort cards were pegged to a clothesline while Sarah carried a bouquet of simply stunning daisies. And they had the cutest centerpieces you've ever seen, from old watering cans to gum boots! This really is a pretty picnic wedding.
As we said before a picnic is not only a beautiful wedding idea it can be a big money saver too. Decorations can be kept to a minimum, try some cute pin wheels like Heather and Grayson did, they make fabulous photo props. Via Green Wedding Shoes photo by Dana and Jeremy Photography. These decorative moss balls could be hung from tress or scattered on the grass to create a makeshift aisle. From Save On Crafts. White, tin or green gingham jugs for refreshments or flowers.
Don't forget the picnic baskets of course. Guests could each receive their own baskets filled with food and drink for the day which doubles as a great wedding favour. Or use them to hold the order of service programs (pic by Jennifer Davis Photography) or champagne glasses as shown here. String pretty paper banners from the trees, hearts, birds and butterflies.
For a sit down meal bring a little rustic charm to the table with a simple setting, hessian table cloths, old lace and napkins neatly wrapped in fabric tied with a cute little button. Pic by Zoe Lingard. Then all there is left to do, is to relax and enjoy your day.
We're really excited to have been asked to put together some DIY wedding projects for a fantastic website called Style Collective, an online magazine and fashion community. This month a cute wedding cake alternative that you can easily do yourself. So head on over to Style Collective and check it out along with loads of other great wedding and style ideas.
Here's our latest wedding stationery range. Just the thing to set the scene for an outdoor wedding. Bring on the lemonade... croquet anyone? Click here to see more.
DIY project:
Step 1. Just clean ordinary tin cans removing the label thoroughly.
Step 2. If you plan to use taller flowers you can glue some oasis with a glue gun to the bottom of the can to help secure your flowers.
Step 3. Decorating. There are plenty of options here, you can glue a little ribbon around the can to tie in with your colour scheme. You could print out new labels with your names and wedding date. Or you could just leave the cans as is. Finish off by filling with simple flowers such as daises or natives such as Flannel Flower and Geraldton Wax.
Told you it was easy! As a more colourful alternative us old tea tins or head to your local Asian food market for colourful tins just left as is.

Ooo sometimes I wish I had lots of bridesmaids so I could choose dresses for them all. But I guess I'll have to settle for dressing mannequins. With gorgeous greens and cute creams here are three options to get you thinking about bridesmaids fashion for a pretty picnic.

We're going to get a bit practical with our fashion post this month. Because lets face it, if you're planning a proper picnic wedding (the one where you actually sit around on the floor) a little more thought needs to go into your wedding attire.
We're thinking short dresses are a fabulous options. Pretty ballet pumps to run around and play croquet, and plenty of floral themed accessories.

Nothing says relaxed charm like a pretty picnic. Perfect for a spring or summers day, get outdoors and let nature be your wedding backdrop.
Look simply stunning with natural fabrics in cream or off white like this ivory silk number from Sarah Seven.
Eco friendly plates and cutlery don't have to look cheap. These wooden forks were bought on ebay and look fabulous teamed with a simple cream napkin, wrapped in brown paper and tied up with string. Pic via The Brides Cafe. Eco friendly party supplies from Eco My Party.
Display bunches of native wild flowers in a mix of glass bottles (do get your flowers from a florist though, not the national park) or old tin cans. As the sun goes down tin cans can even be transformed into beautiful candle holders.
If the idea of sitting on the floor doesn't appeal you can still have the pretty picnic feel with outdoor table settings. Use gorgeous gingham table cloths or table runners and crisp white milk jugs filled with refreshments or flowers. Pic from Project Wedding.
Decorations can be kept to a minimum with the great outdoors as your venue. But strings beautiful butterflies hung from trees add a touch of magic. Pic from Brides.com
Throw in some pinwheels for place settings, decorations or just for fun. Pic from Brides.com
Don't forget to provide comfy cushions and shade for your guests. And picnic blankets and picnic baskets of course! Pics E Lucky Me and Zara Home.

This week I finally found some time to tweak another one of Aarons beautiful sunrise beach shots. Love the pink and cloud detail. I think it would make a lovely gift for Valentines Day.
I love it when people come up with different clever ways to use our designs. Jazz from event THIS contacted us a couple of months ago about using our gum leaf thank you cards as Christmas cards instead. She's put a post up on her blog about it (click here) and they look fabulous even if I do say so myself. Love the string. Thanks Jazz
With gorgeous gingham, lace and button details our pretty picnic range is perfect for an outdoor spring or summer wedding. The design features a beautiful heart surrounded by buttons to highlight names or the wedding date.

A picnic isn't only perfect for your wedding, it makes a great setting for your engagement session. Grab yourself a gorgeous blanket, a basket, a couple of glasses of wine and you're all set. Ask your photographer to shoot from above and try out quirky angles for a bit of fun.
New month, new year, new decade! And the start of a new theme. If you're looking for a relaxed -not to mention reasonably priced - wedding idea, look no further than the old world charm of a country picnic.
