Cineca and Joshuas Japanese inspired wedding was a truly DIY affair, designing and creating nearly every detail with the help of some great friends. Here Cineca talks us through the process of making her cute message in a bottle wedding favors which doubled as programs.
"I began saving clear glass bottles roughly 6 months before the wedding. Each bottle had to be cleaned and have the labels and glue scraped off. (Nothing we tried made getting the glue off much easier... nail polish remover helped a little.)
Once the bottles were prepped, I began making personalized stickers to go on each bottle. The stickers varied. Some were pictures of the bride and groom (my husband and I) others were decorated with our custom, hand-drawn monogram along with our favorite quote, 'When I saw you I fell in love, and you smiled because you knew.' All of the stickers matched our color scheme of green, brown and orange.
The message or program, inside the bottle was 2 pages of beige antique-looking paper rolled and tied with natural raffia. The programs consisted of a Ceremony page and a Reception page. Our wedding was non-traditional, and I wanted to reflect that in our program. The bottles were displayed on the guest book table for guests to take as they arrived."
thanks Cineca
